Mr. and Mrs. Bamforth

As you guys know, Keaton's twin sister, Kendra, got married last friday. The ceremony was only minutes away from their mom's house and the weather was PERFECT! It had been raining every single night for eight straight days before the wedding, but the rain held off for the rehearsal and ceremony.

Keats and I took a walk on one of the islands during the reception and he drew this heart in the sand. It reminded both of us of when we met in Panama :)

Weren't you wondering what "Crab Feast" was?!

My wonderful boyfriend wanted to make me a special birthday dinner after we returned from our first trip to Colorado, so he surprised me with CRAB FEAST!! (Everyone kept asking us why we were calling it that. We said, 'Why not!?')

It was a fancy dinner that we both enjoyed while sitting in our sweatpants. I really don't think it can get any better than that. :)

Okay, I have no idea what type of pose this cat is trying to pull off in this picture. What I do know is that he is totally getting yelled at because he had just snuck a piece of lettuce out of the bowl. Silly Bagheera, cats don't eat lettuce!

We decided to play a game of Tumblin' Dice after we stuffed our faces. Doesn't this look quite similar to our Valentine's Day night?

We neglected to put the game away before going to bed and woke up to a couple missing black dice. BAGHEEERA?! I'm sure we'll find them behind our TV when we move.

Our fourth of July weekend was pretty low key. We hung out in Cedar Falls and then walked over to the UNI Dome parking lot where they had food vendors, music, inflatables and fireworks.

Ugh, looking at this picture makes my stomach hurt all over again! (Yes, there is a fried Snickers in there. Not at all as good as it sounds. Wait, does that even sound good?)

Also -- can you believe my boyfriend has never heard of a walking taco?! At first he refused (like a two year old) to try it because "they didn't even take it out of the bag!" (Uh, hello?! Should I even claim him anymore?! Just kidding.) After he saw me enjoying every bite, he decided to try it. He liked it, of course!

I can't believe I got two blogs done in two days! GO FOR GOLD, COURT!

Can you tell I'm at home by myself? I bet you can already guess that I talk to my cat as if he is a person. I probably talk to Bagheera more than I talk to Keats when he is actually home!

So much to share!

It has been WAY too long since the last post, so thank you for coming back to see if we're still alive and writing! We have been crazy busy and I have so many posts to write to catch up with the last two weeks. Yikes. (I'm not sure if I'll even get around to them!)

Keats and I spent my birthday weekend in Colorado. We spent some time with his family, walked around a sculpture park and....(are you ready?) FOUND AN APARTMENT! Hooray! We are moving in August 5th and we have so much to do before we leave Iowa.

(To all of my family reading this: I HOPE WE CAN SEE EACH OTHER SOOOOON!)

Kendall's birthday was on the 22nd and mine was on the 25th so we spent our Saturday at Washington Park in Denver. Kasen was super excited for some cake :)

..and he definitely got a hand full of it!

We walked around Chapungu for an hour or so and I took about 100 pictures. Unfortunately, I'm not going to post many because I have so much other stuff to catch up on!

A couple days after we got back from Colorado, I left for California with my dad and Connie. We spent a couple days with Ty and the rest of the CA gang and had a blast.

I got home from CA on Monday and then Keats and I left for round two of Colorado on Tuesday morning. His twin sister got married and we were both in the wedding. Congratulations Scott and Kendra!

We are finally back home...but only until Sunday when we leave for Chicago. Sheesh!

Oh yeah, I forgot about "Crab Feast" and our fourth of July celebration. That will have to wait until next time. I am too tired to keep writing!

Omaha Zoo

While in Omaha a couple of weeks ago, Keats and I visited the zoo. Such a fun place that I would definitely recommend for all! (And, it is pretty cheap.)

What a pair of cuties, huh? :)

They had a sensory garden with statues like this, a couple of water-play areas, chimes, and all sorts of birds. Very neat.

Poor bear! It was so hot out that most of the animals were just bummin' around like this.

Another thing I would recommend...DO NOT go in mid-June or during the other scorching hot months. Choose a time more towards the fall. I would assume the animals would be a little more lively and you would be, too. We had to stop for water every 15 minutes it seemed like!

We found Bagheera a lady friend! She would knock him into shape, don't you think?

The next couple of pictures were taken while some of the animal trainers were demonstrating how they give animals medicine/shots or routine check-ups. They distract them with food....that sounds like it would work for me! ;)

From the outside, this place doesn't look like anything special.

And then......

You walk into the awesomeness that is the world's largest indoor rainforest!

I don't really like this picture but I had to include it because of what happened when I took it. This monkey looked like the oldest monkey alive and when I took the picture he jumped about five feet in the air because I startled him so badly! Keats and I felt so bad but we couldn't stop laughing!

It's a babyyyy! This picture is also funny...look at the smile (or whatever that is) that the other monkey is flashin'!

Next up, the desert dome!

This place seemed like it was never ending.

This was also in the dome. A swamp area that was dark and scary and filled with turtles, alligators and crocodiles.

In the lower level of the desert dome is the nocturnal exhibit. All of the lights are off and it's kind of scary/disgusting, if you ask me! (Scary because I really am afraid of the dark. Disgusting because there are bats and gross creatures waiting behind every corner. Caged or netted, of course!)

This was pretty cool though...it's a mouse house! Or a maze, I guess. It was neat to see in the dark because there were little black lights in each of the cylinders and it was easy to find the mice.

There is also an IMAX theatre in the zoo, so we took a break from the heat to see 'Tornado Alley'...that was pretty neat as well.

In case you're wondering why we went to Omaha in the first place...Keats REALLY wanted to go to the CWS (College World Series), so we made the short drive. I didn't get pictures from the game but we had a lot of fun!
