We Got a New Roommate
(Hooray Keats for writing the first part of the blog! Haha) On the way home we were went back and forth bouncing name ideas off of each other and after about 5 minutes, we decided we liked Bagheera, the name of the black panther in The Jungle Book. (For those of you who haven't seen it, it's pronounced: buh-gear-uh.) See the resemblance?
Bagheera loves to sleep and cuddle, but he's also very hyper. He's a big fan of our floor-length vertical blinds -- which he's not supposed to be playing in but of course, he always does. We bought him a whole bunch of toys, a scratching post, and a little "hide-out" box, but as of now, he would rather play with Kleenex boxes, plastic sacks, toilet paper and paper towel rolls, and the clear box you see him sitting inside of in the picture above. Gooo figure!
We were worried about litter training him, but he was using it almost two minutes after we got everything set up. We were very excited. And yes...we were both clapping and saying "YAY BAGHEERA! GOOD BOY!" Hahaha, gag!!!
Here's a video we took one night, it's my favorite. :)
Big news...Keaton got a job last week! He's working with the UNI Museum on "The PHIRE Project" -- Preserving the History of Iowa's Rural Education. For the most part, he's scanning and organizing the entire collection of documents for the project. It's similar to what he did at CU, except he's basically the only one working on the project. I'm still working at the UNI Child Development Center. I've worked in the 4-5 year old room for four years, but this summer I'm working with the 3-4 year olds. I love it! Their imaginations keep me entertained and work goes by really fast.
Other than work and the kitty, we haven't been up to much. We set up a card table in the living room a couple of weeks ago and worked on a puzzle. Warning: do NOT buy puzzles from the Dollar Tree. Puzzles for $1.00 provide no entertainment, just cause frustration! All 504 of the puzzle pieces were the same size and shape and could go almost anywhere in the puzzle! We (I) finished it but we'll never do that again!
We will be going to Las Vegas with my family for my birthday and are leaving on the 24th -- I can't wait. :) We hope you're all up to something fun!
